Raising More than Just the Roof...

A 'temporary' prefab home built in 1948 has finally been winched off its site at Gabalfa, Cardiff. Only designed to last 10 years the homes became so popular with tenants they remained in situ until now... Most will be demolished in the New Year but this one will be a special feature at the Museum of Welsh Life St Fagans.Picture © 1998 Ian Homer.
